A “pretentious Tom Green” (snicker)
when did the new doctor who special come on?
It was an easter special……….it aired on easter
yay for new episode!
You just want us to get to episode 100 sooner…
When and what channel did the Doctor Who special come on? Sci-Fi or BBCA?
It didn’t air in America. Just on BBC1 in the UK
Jorge Garcia :p
I had no idea there was a new Doctor Who special. Thanks for reminding me. I’m bittor…. I mean I’ll watch it soon. :)
Totally agree with you Scott about Borat. I hated that movie (as did my brother), and people tell me I’m crazy and it’s funny, but it was uncomfortable to watch and I didn’t make past an hour into it.
“Pretentious Tom Green” was awesome. That should be someone’s moniker. :)
I really liked the Bruno trailer, the sex and the city jokes had me laughing for ages… the difference between Sascha Baron Cohen and Tom Green is that Cohen actually has a reason for what he’s doing, he is trying to make a point, whilst Tom Green was just an arse. Completely agree with you on on Observe and Report (apart from the Anna Farris thing, I really like her), it was good but not great, but it was so different, it definitely stood out.
You’ll be hapy to know that Russell T Davies has said that he wrote everything up to the regeneration, and after that he stopped and let Moffat start. He said he wanted every word and action of the new doctor to be Moffats creation.
I’m a big fan of Sacha Baron Cohen. I think he’s taking film comedy to a lot of really interesting places.
I agree and I think that any comparison to Tom Green is ludicrous.
Rather then just making a fool of himself for laughs he plans intricate and well thought out characters to put people at ease and tricks them into exposing their own bigotry. I only saw Borat once and I haven’t sat through it again, (it may be because I’m from such a liberal place) but I was very intrigued by the racism and homophobia he brought out of people so openly an easily.
He takes comedy to a place comparable to Peter Sellers and Charlie Kaufman. Even if the general the general public doesn’t get it or like it he is going to go down as the comedic actor of this generation.
funnily enough, I just got some test screening tix to Bruno, can’t wait.
Hey, will the Ninja Turtles movie be a live-action sequle to TMNT, or will it erase the film from canon entirely?
As the token Brit on the site, I will pull the you’re not British, you don’t get the humour card.
I just got back from seeing Bruno… it was fantastic, I love my comedies to offend me (growing up with South Park, Da Ali G Show and John Waters movies as my preffered comedies, it’s clear where this came from) and this did nothing but shock, offend and make me laugh my arse off. Truly funny, if you liked Borat, you’ll like this one, it the same but different if you get what I mean.
I had a funny thought today- I listened to some of the new Eminem stuff, from the record that’s coming out this summer. It’s really dissapointing, very lame. But one thing I noticed is that Em’s idea of being “contriversial” and “offensive” really seems juvenille and harmless now that we have Sacha Baron Cohen.
Yeah um I’m embarrassed to say that I like eminem, and I actually liked that new song of his crack a bottle.(probably because my man dr. dre was in it) But I heard two new songs by him We Made This and 3 A.M. and he rapped in a really weird voice and it just pretty much blew.
Hey I likeTom green LOL
Is there really only going to be one more show That only to suck , we will all miss u guys ,
Good Luck Geekeazy guys you guys have some big shoes to fill.
dang it i got beat on the jose garcia correction….
I hadn’t yet heard that Waters of Mars isn’t due until November. Not happy about that at all :/
On the upside, however, at least we won’t have to wait too long for the next two after that. As a matter of fact, it suggests to me that the three specials are likely gonna have a connected plot. Which would be very good :D
Um I’m posting this here because I don’t know where else to, and I’m sorry if you’ve already mentioned it in a past episode and I missed it but… Scott and Ben, have you seen Party Down and if you have, what are you’re thoughts on it? Because I think its fantastic
