Season 8 of 24 is getting an exciting new cast member, in the form of Katee Sackoff.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the Battlestar Glactica vet will join the cast next season as a data anaylist for the new and improved New York-based CTU. Sackhoff’s charecter, Dana Walsh will be in a relationship with another nee charecter, played by Freddie Prinze Jr. Her charecter is described as “down to earth” and “highly respected,” but has a “few skeletons in the closet.”
Good to see vets of cancelled shows getting work.

Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane Vol. 2 HCThere's a new girl at Midtown High named Gwen Stacy, and she has her sights set on Peter Parker! What's a lovesick Mary Jane to do? Plus: Mary Jane Watson wasn't always the girl she is today. How did she become the sort of person to push her problems away rather than face them? And how is it that Spider-Man's origin plays a pivotal role? See the birth of the greatest modern super hero like you've never seen it before!
This news somewhat lessens the sting of Freddie Prinze, Jr joining the cast. Maybe he will surprise me, but he just doesn’t seem like the kind of actor that would be on a show like 24. I find it hard to take him seriously most of the time.
Anyway, I guess I’ll get to find out next year.
You know… Freddie Prinze Jr was actually kinda funny on that sitcom he did with BAG a few years ago (shut up, it was on before Lost at the time.)
Maybe this could be to his career like NYPD Blue was to Ricky (sorry Rick) Schroder or Mark-Paul Gosselar.
She is the only reason I’m going to actually watch that show. *nodnod*
I have watched 24 from the beginning, and it seems like the writers are running out of ideas the last few years. The first few seasons were really good, but as time passed, they seemed to recycle ideas more and more often. This season was fun, but it wasn’t as creative as seasons in the past.
I hope that next year can recapture some of the energy and creativity the show had as recently as season five (the best year hands down).
