Smallville Season Nine a Go!

A couple of months ago it seemed that the chances of a ninth season of Smallville were pretty slim, well all that seems to have changed. Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Tom Welling is close to signing a deal to keep him on the show through a ninth season, the are close to a deal with only a few minor points left to iron out. An imporvement in quality of the show, as well as in ratings may have been the turning point in these negotians.
What does this mean for the proposed Martian Manhunter show?
With the way season eight has been going this is awesome news, and maybe they’ll go for ten seasons since they’re so close.

Yet another reason why I need to catch-up……
I gave up on Smallville in Season 4 and have honestly had no desire to go back. Adding yet another season almost seems like what they pulled with Charmed a few years ago. Season 7 was a nice wrap up for the show. Season 8 ended up a blundering mess because the show really had no new places to go. But again, I haven’t been watching, so maybe there are more stories to tell about the not-Superman-Clark.
Well I would’ve agreed at this time last year, however Season 8 has been on of if not the best season of the show. And so if Season 9 is just as good then I’m going to be happy. Also the show just needs to end in the right way, i.e. Superman, and I think this will help us get there.
It’s really nothing like what happened with Charmed. Last season of Smallville was terrible. This season was its redemption. if the new showrunners have a story to tell next season that’s as good as this season, then they should have the chance to do that. I’m very happy :)
when is smallville back from the break? Is there a place to find out when all the shows are back. E.g Bones, Prison Break, Sarah Connor Chronicles…
Smallville comes back January 15th.
More importantly, at least in my mind, Supernatural comes back the same night. :D
What about an entire calendar with the winter premiere dates of most shows? Unfortunately, Bones is the only one on it that you mentioned.

BUT, according to the Fox website, Terminator comes back on February 13th, now on Friday nights with Dollhouse. The Prison Break site says it will “return in the spring”, so no specific date for that one yet.
Can’t wait for Supernatural to return, and I’m caught up too :) I pretty much watched all the episodes this Xmas break, thanks to Amazon deals (I own Seasons 1-3) and the Torrent Fairy.
BTW, Friday Night Lights returns to NBC next Friday (not this upcoming one), and I’m excited about that.

I want to see superman , Not clark Kent for one more year
I know Tom Welling will do an excellent job in season nine. I believe it will start to show all of Clark Kent’s powers to develop like his super freezing breath and his ability to fly will show him into superman where Lois and Clark can start to get closer romantically. I also want more of Lois and Clark together and possibly them getting married and having a child. Erica Durance deserves to be in a lot of more episodes in season 9 with Clark Kent developing into superman. They should also have some superhero’s come in the show as well as some new enemies of superman and the other hero’s. A lot of people want to see superman in season nine so I hope that Clark becomes superman in season 9 of Smallville. You producers and writers of Smallville are doing a excellent job for season 8. You will do just as good in season 9 of Smallville all you actors actresses,writers and producers of the show. Tom Welling will make a superb superman for the show so it may continue with the superman legend because Tom Welling is a Superb actor for the superman,and Clark Kent roles to handle. If some people don’t get to see Clark Kent become superman in season 9 they would be very disappointed in the show. I also would like to see Clark become superman in season 9 and were Lois will fall in love with Clark and Superman. I also think Clark wouldn’t have let Lois get so close to him in their relationship if he didn’t believe she could handle his double identity. I want them to fall in love and get married and have a child. on the show. Please renew Tom Welling’s contract for the show Smallville it more than well deserved for him. I think he is a superb actor and a great guy off the set also the fans of Smallville will be very appreciative of renewing his contract for the show Smallville for season 9 and maybe even more seasons.
i think that seson 8 of smallville is so cool. i think that if they are for seson 9 they should do a seson 10. they would be so close to 10 they should shoot for it. i like the show so much. i say they can pull of a seson 10. how cool would it be for a show about superman
to run for 10 seson. they have had smallville since 2001 they should kepp it on the air for 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 for a tenth season of smallville. i think the show would get lots of votes for being on the air for that long. i will voye 100 times for a seson 10.
i thimk that that matt kid is right about season 10 the should do it. the show was on the air for a long time and still is they should keep it that way. seson 10 would be so cool like matt i also vote 100 times for smallville seson 10 make that 1000 times. vote for smallville seson 9 and 10.

Well I think there should not be a season 10. Nothing would make me more angry than 10 seasons of Smallville. If superman were real (which there’s no evidence of) he would say no to season 10. 10 times 1000 is 10,000! That’s too much.
Well I think this season should end it all with Zod being released now and if Doomsday being sealed under ground, should come crashing out from underground near the end season with Zod and Doomsday going full out, Zod being Killed of course and the last thing you see at the end of season 9 is finally Superman, and Doomsday connecting each a punch to the face, then to finalize the season, make the live action film of Doomsday: The Death of Superman
