But seriously, the 5 minute trailer gives you everything, why bother seeing the movie? The future part makes the least amount of sense..
Could not agree more. Here is my take – just because it has a complicated plot does not make it a great movie. Inception was good, but people were saying how great it was because it had an OVERLY complicated plot. This looks like it is the same way.
Okay, I posted this trailer for a few reasons.
1.) It’s directed by the Wachowski Brothers from the Matrix trilogy.
2.) The cast, geeky or not, is pretty impressive which makes me think it will be a big movie when it comes out.
3.) You must admit, it’s cool to think of a movie that spans over 1,000 years.
I guess, my thoughts are that I’m tired of seeing the same old, same old movies at the theater. I applaud them for being so ambitious to make a movie with such a huge scale.
But, I agree with you too. It will probably be very complicated with this much going on. (There’s a LOT going on in that preview.)
I don’t think it shows the whole movie, it think it just introduces the barest minimum about who the characters are and then show us random action sequences out of order with no context.
I’m excited to see how it all plays out. In my own opinion. Thoughts?
Im about as excited for this movie as I was the tree of life. Tree of life was kind of the same concept, spanning a few generations, people being connected in the universe, but this movie brings a sci-fi element.
I’m sorry, but I watched the tree of life and I want my 3 hours back. It had a stellar cast, but was mostly silence and whispering. I was bored, they took 3 hours to show you depressing things in his life. I just think this movie will turn out the same.
Good trailer but i don’t really want to see this it seems a little like a crossed the universe with the wired love story thing. However i do want to know what that song is near the end.
Ugh! Gag me with a spoon! I…this is…I just….When I am wondering when a movie TRAILER will end, you know that’s a bad sign! Okay, I’ll cut this film some slack because it does look epic, the acting looks AMAZING and I’ll probably end up going to see it.
But whoever had cut and pasted this trailer together should be shot, tazered, fired, or all of the above. So much for keeping secrets for the theater! I can pretty much piece things together in my head and HEY! Halle Barry DIES in this nearly six minute preview! Wtf?!
The future stuff looks so fake that I wouldn’t be able to get lost in that world and the only interesting part to me is the half missing book and the pirate ship. That boat’s gonna kick ass, I can tell!
I like movie trailers that are short, sweet and to the point. A good example, despite the fact that these two films are in VERY different genres, check out the trailer for the film Stand By Me. That is my all time favorite movie and all I needed to see was the trailer to be hooked instantly. That movie trailer actually made me cry; the Cloud Atlas trailer made me tap my foot.
