An easy-to-digest rundown of the week’s movie news.
– John Krasinski (The Office) won’t be wielding the shield, but Chris Evans (Fantastic Four), Ryan Phillippe (Crash), and Channing Tatum (G.I. Joe) are now in the running for Captain America. Seriously, can we just cast this thing already? (/Film)

- Christopher Nolan spoke about his third Batman film, stating that it “- will end the story”. (LA)

- The first poster for Edgar Wright’s Scott Pilgrim vs The World is… epic. (CS)
- The Hobbit begins shooting this June. (/Film)
- Is either a 3D Titanic or an Avatar extended cut rerelease necessary? No? Well, they seem to be happening anyway. (USA)

Y The Last Man Vol. 5In this final Deluxe Edition hardcover collecting Y #49-60, Yorick and Agent 355 prepare for their ultimate quest to reunite the last man with his lost love, while the person, people or thing behind the disaster that wiped out half of humanity is revealed. Then, Yorick Brown's long journey through an Earth populated only by women comes to its dramatic, unexpected conclusion.
In a world of poorly Photoshopped, floating-head poster design, that Scott Pilgrim poster is pretty damned awesome. I shall bask in its “epic epicness”. :D
I’m excited that The Hobbit will finally start shooting as it means they’ll have to get a cast put together soon. I think a huge part of what will make or break the movie is whoever ends up being cast as Bilbo. I can’t wait to see who they get for the part.
I think Hugo Weaving could be great as Red Skull. He seems to enjoy playing bad guys.
I would love to see Ian Holm in the roll of Bilbo again, but he is pushing 80 and there will be lots of action. Another big part will be where they decide to break the films. I personally would like to see it a trilogy but Mr. Jackson and the rest haven’t asked my opinion.
