About this author:

My day job is being an animator at a small studio, an admittedly geeky (and awesome) career. I have read Lord of the Rings a countless number of times. I can just about quote The Princess Bride at will. I love Star Wars, and I was even a band geek back in high school where I played the alto saxophone in marching band, symphonic band, and jazz band. I also love to play video games of many different types. I am a complete geek, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Rockstar Games is most famous for making the Grand Theft Auto series, but that doesn’t mean they can’t make other games. With Bully, Rockstar leaves the world of GTA behind in favor of one with wedgies, swirlies, and “kick me” signs.

Computer Games of Yore

Unlike many people my age, I did not have a Nintendo or other gaming console while growing up. Sure, I had plenty of friends who had a gaming system, so I was able to play my fair share of games like Mario Bros, Duck Hunt, The Legend of Zelda, Sonic the Hedgehog, and NBA Jam. However, I had to turn to the family computer for my entertainment needs when I was at home. This article presents a few of the titles that I spent quality time with “back in the day”.

Review – Metroid Prime (GC)

When a video game franchise makes the move into 3D, it doesn’t always turn out very well. The elements that make a game great in two dimensions don’t necessarily transfer properly when the third dimension is added into the mix. Metroid Prime is an example of a developer finding the magic formula that retains the feel of the original side-scrolling games while creating something that also stands on its own merits.
